Need for upgrade at Ballinasloe Garda Station

The need for the upgrading of facilities in Ballinasloe Garda Station was highlighted this week by East Galway TD Paul Connaughton, who has requested that Minister Simon Harris visit and see for himself the conditions at the station.

‘Ballinasloe Garda Station is the main station serving East Galway and over 40 Gardaí are stationed there. I visited the station last week and it is clear to any visitor that the station is completely unsuitable in terms of facilities for policing in 2015. At the moment it is not a safe environment for Gardaí or members of the public and work needs to be carried out on the station as soon as possible.

‘I have contacted Minister Harris about visiting the station and hope that he will soon be able to see for himself the conditions that pertain and the need for an immediate upgrade.’
