IDA to seek further investment in Tuam

News that manufacturing firm Valeo Vision Systems is to create 140 new jobs at its Tuam facility was warmly welcomed this week by local TD Paul Connaughton.
‘This announcement is a real vote of confidence by Valeo in its Tuam operation and the additional 140 jobs in manufacturing, research and development will bring the workforce in Tuam to over 650.
‘Creating employment and the conditions for additional employment are core objectives of this government and the Valeo announcement is an endorsement of what the government is doing. 140 additional jobs is a very significant economic boost for Tuam and the surrounding areas and I particularly welcome the fact that the IDA plans to use this latest jobs announcement to promote further investment in the town. It is imperative that job creation is not confined to our cities, and that towns such as Tuam are marketed in a focused way for inward investment.’
