East Galway TD Paul Connaughton has been appointed as Director for the Youth Sector and youth organisations as Fine Gael seeks to have the upcoming children’s referendum passed by a strong majority.
‘I am delighted to have been appointed to head up the party’s campaign among young people to have this referendum passed. I strongly believe that it is in the best interests of everyone in Ireland, young and old, that this referendum is passed by the strongest majority possible.
‘Having previously worked as a youth worker, I am confident that the reasons why this referendum is so crucial can be properly communicated with young people and that a strong majority can be secured in favour of this referendum. This is an issue of real importance and a Yes vote will have real positive repercussions for some of the most vulnerable children in the land.’
